Position Overview: We are currently seeking a qualified and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the remainder of the current school year. This position is full-time and focuses on elementary school students with diverse learning needs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other educators, support staff, and parents to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify and adapt curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in both inclusive and pull-out settings.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents, administrators, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and individualized plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Virginia state teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with elementary school students with diverse learning needs.
- Knowledge of current special education laws, practices, and trends.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
