Job Title: Middle School Special Education Teacher - Moderate to Severe Disabilities
Location: Lasker, North Carolina
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Middle School Special Education Teacher to join our team in Lasker, North Carolina. This position focuses on supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities in a middle school setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address students' unique needs and goals.
- Adapt and modify instructional materials and methods to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities of students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive practices and accommodations.
- Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to support positive classroom environments.
- Utilize assistive technology and other resources to enhance student learning and participation.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (K-12) in North Carolina.
- Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities, preferably in a middle school setting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
