As a Special Education Teacher, your role will involve designing lesson plans that are personalized to meet the specific needs of students, adjusting your approach to fit various learning styles, and collaborating with educators and families to ensure optimal student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide tailored instruction to accommodate the varying learning needs of students
- Regularly assess and adjust teaching strategies to track student progress
- Cultivate a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere
- Communicate regularly with families to discuss student progress and objectives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education
- Active North Carolina Teaching License with Special Education endorsement required
- Experience in special education preferred
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to tailor teaching strategies to a diverse group of learners
