Full-time Special Education Teacher Needed – Wheeling, IL
Sunbelt is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to fill an open role within an Wheeling, IL area school district. This school is looking for someone can start at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year and assist their students throughout the full year. After successful completion of the 23/24 school year, candidates will have an opportunity to return for future caseloads based on performance. Work with a school district that supports its teachers!

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in special education or related fields
• Must have an active IL SPED certification (LBS1).
• Must have IL PEL Certification
• Previous Special Education Teaching experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to pass a Drug screen and background check.

Job specifics:

• Full-time: 37.5hrs/wk, Monday – Friday
• Conduct assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students to identify learning issues.
• Assist students and teaching staff in implementing IEPs and behavior modification plans.
• Coordinate with administrators and other staff.
• Work with K-12 in a Self-Contained Life Skills Classrooms providing support to students who have 1:1 but various mild to moderate special education needs.
