Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a contracted position during the 2023-2024 school year. The selected candidate will work in an Autism Resource Room and receive comprehensive training from the district to ensure readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students in the Autism Resource Room.
- Collaborate with other staff members and professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Support non-ambulatory students, including lifting and positioning or assisting with two-person lifts when required.
Requirements:
- State of Indiana Certification as a Special Education Teacher with a license in Severe Disabilities or Intense Interventions.
- Demonstrated history of timely and accurate submission of IEPs.
- Physical capability to lift and assist with positioning non-ambulatory students.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in special education settings.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and adaptive teaching methods.
