Special Education Teacher - Aurora, Colorado
Ignite a positive impact in the lives of students as a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time contract opportunity spanning from August 2026 to May 2027. This position, located onsite near Aurora, CO, focuses on supporting either middle school or high school learners in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
You will play a crucial role in managing IEPs, providing individualized instruction, and collaborating with colleagues and families to foster student growth. Two positions are available: one serving a middle school caseload, the other serving a high school group. Your expertise will help shape meaningful educational outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.
Qualifications and Experience Desired:
- Valid Colorado Special Education Teacher Certificate required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Prior experience as a SPED Case Manager or Teacher preferred
- Expertise with IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Ability to coordinate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and administrators
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Passion for supporting student independence, inclusion, and academic achievement
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage caseloads for assigned middle or high school students
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Provide direct and consultative special education services
- Maintain high standards of documentation and progress reporting
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and school collaboration
