Special Education Teacher | Chicago, Illinois

This rewarding contract opportunity runs from August 17, 2026, through May 28, 2027, supporting a self-contained elementary classroom of 10-13 students. Key Qualifications:
- Must hold an active PEL License with LBS1 (ESL, EC, or SPED endorsement)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher required
- Proven experience working within self-contained classrooms
- Skilled in developing, implementing, and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Bilingual individuals are highly encouraged to apply
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive instruction to 4th-6th grade students in a self-contained classroom setting
- Create engaging, adaptive lesson plans in alignment with students’ IEPs and educational goals
- Monitor student progress, assess needs, and communicate outcomes to families and staff
- Maintain a collaborative approach with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators
- Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom culture
- Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities
