Job Overview:
Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality instruction and support to students with disabilities. This role requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic and social growth. The position is full-time.
Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
-
Deliver differentiated instruction to students with disabilities in alignment with curriculum standards
-
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student success
-
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
-
Maintain compliance with all NYS education regulations and district policies
-
Participate in professional development and team meetings
Qualifications:
-
Valid state teaching certification in Special Education ( NYS Certification for Students with Disabilities)
-
Willingness to work with Students With Disabilities (All Grades) OR Students With Disabilities (Grades 1-6)
-
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
-
Knowledge of special education laws, including IDEA and Section 504
-
Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
-
Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills
-
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with students, parents, and staff
-
Proficiency with educational technology and assistive technology tools
-
Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with disabilities
-
Ability to assess and monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
- Case load details- EVALS NEEDED : Portuguese--one cognitive and/or academic. Spanish--one academic and/or cognitive.
