What You’ll Need:
- Valid Colorado Special Education Certificate (required)
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher, ideally in middle and/or high school settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and school teams
- Proven ability to adapt instruction and interventions to meet diverse learner needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction in accordance with Individualized Education Programs for assigned students
- Manage and monitor student progress, updating documentation and data collection as needed
- Serve as case manager: coordinate meetings, communicate with parents, and oversee service delivery
- Partner with general education teachers and related service providers to implement accommodations and support inclusive practices
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that promotes growth and independence
