Step into a meaningful role supporting student success as a Behavioral Specialist in a school-based setting. In this contract position, you’ll work onsite with K-12 students across several districts, utilizing your expertise to create positive changes in behavior and social-emotional growth. Collaborate with educators, parents, and school teams in an itinerant capacity, using evidence-based practices to make a real difference.

Ideal applicants will bring experience conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and delivering data-driven behavioral supports. Your skills in providing crisis intervention, staff coaching, and family consulting will help foster a positive and inclusive learning environment throughout the school year.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
  • Current Kansas State Teaching License with the appropriate endorsement
  • Additional certification in school psychology, social work, school counseling, or BCBA preferred
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with behavioral and social-emotional needs
  • Strong background in FBAs, BIPs, and research-based intervention strategies
  • Ability to work collegially with interdisciplinary teams, staff, and families
  • Skilled in crisis prevention and intervention techniques

Responsibilities:

  • Assess student behavior, conduct FBAs, and develop/implement BIPs
  • Deliver data-driven interventions to support students’ behavioral and emotional needs
  • Collaborate closely with general and special education staff, parents, and administrators
  • Train and support school teams in behavior intervention strategies
  • Assist in crisis intervention and provide ongoing coaching and consultation
  • Maintain thorough documentation and contribute to student success planning
