Special Education Teacher | Orland Park, Illinois

This is a full-time, contract opportunity for an experienced Special Education Teacher, focused on self-contained classrooms with 4th-6th grade students. Guiding a caseload of 10-13 students, you will deliver personalized instruction, spearhead IEP development, and nurture growth throughout the academic year—from August 17, 2026, to May 28, 2027. This position is fully onsite.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement (ESL, EC, or SPED also accepted)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Experience and enthusiasm for working in self-contained classroom settings
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Bilingual abilities highly desirable
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and differentiated support to a diverse group of elementary students
- Create a structured, positive classroom environment tailored to individual learning needs
- Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with input from internal departments and families
- Foster student academic, social, and emotional growth
- Develop relationships with families and colleagues to ensure consistency and support across settings
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all special education requirements
