Gaithersburg, MD: A local middle school is looking to hire a Special Education Math Teacher for this upcoming school year. The disabilities are moderate, reflecting math. This position is full time, working 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 4:15pm.

Special Education Teacher Job Responsibilities:

• Develop instruction following the Maryland State Curriculum providing necessary accommodation to meet individual, group, and program needs
• Teach students to utilize assistive technology
• Write and implement IEPs
• Create a supportive learning environment
• Create partnerships with parents and the KTS community
• Be an expert in differentiating grade level curriculum so that students in these classes can access the curriculum.

Special Education Teacher Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or content area
• Maryland Special Education Teaching Certificate Eligibility (Required)
• Experience working with children on the spectrum in a school environment is preferred
