Position: Full-Time School Special Education Teacher Location: Santa Cruz, California Contract: 2023/2024 School Year

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Provide effective instruction and support tailored to meet the unique learning requirements of each student
• Utilize various teaching strategies, techniques, and resources to promote academic and social growth
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including parents, therapists, and other educators, to ensure comprehensive support for students
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and success
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of student performance, attendance, and behavior
• Stay up-to-date with current special education practices, policies, and regulations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
• Valid California Teaching Credential with a Special Education endorsement
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, policies, and best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents
• Patience, compassion, and dedication to the success of all students
