Soliant is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2023-2024 academic year in the Exeter, RI area. We have partnered with a local school district to prescreen, interview, and hire qualified and professional staff! 

As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing quality education and support to children with special needs, ensuring their overall development and success. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of young learners and contribute to their lifelong growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs in an inclusive early childhood setting.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning, independence, and social-emotional development.
  • Assess students' progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and families to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Utilize appropriate assistive technology and instructional materials to facilitate learning for students with diverse abilities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress, including documentation for IEPs and other required reports.
  • Foster effective communication with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about their child's progress and involving them in the educational process.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with best practices in early childhood special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification/license in Early Childhood Special Education in the state of Rhode Island. 
  • Experience working with young children with special needs, preferably in an early childhood education setting.
  • Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the ability to develop and implement effective strategies based on individual students' needs.
  • Strong understanding of child development, learning theories, and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.

This is a full-time position, following the school calendar schedule. 
Competitive and negotiable hourly rate will be determined based on experience of applicant, as well as school budget. Applicant will not be paid when school is closed. Off on weekends, evenings and school holidays. 
W2 contracted position for the 2023/2024 school-year through Soliant, with renewals available if desired.
