Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team in Emporia, KS. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities, working collaboratively with other educators and support staff to ensure the success of all students. The position is full-time and is for the 2023-2024 school year.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, in collaboration with families and other support staff
• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in various subject areas and skills, including social skills and behavior management
• Develop and implement appropriate accommodations and modifications to support student learning and success
• Monitor and track student progress using data-based decision-making and progress monitoring tools
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure the success of all students, including those with disabilities
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress and any concerns or issues that arise
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to special education

Qualifications:

• Kansas teaching certification in Special Education (K-12) with endorsement in one or more areas of disability 
• Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to FERPA regulations
