Job Summary:
We are currently seeking passionate Special Education Teachers to join our dedicated team in Maine. With multiple positions available, you will have the opportunity to work with students of various age groups and caseload options, including resource, inclusion, or self-contained settings. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in promoting inclusive education practices and ensuring the academic and social success of students with special needs. Responsibilities:
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide instructional support and adaptations to students in inclusive classroom settings.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to develop and implement differentiated instructional strategies.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional techniques and goals as necessary.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity.
- Utilize assistive technologies and accommodations to support student learning.
- Regularly communicate and collaborate with parents, guardians, and support staff.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education License in Maine.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; master's degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience in working with students with a wide range of disabilities and abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Adaptability to meet individual student needs and accommodate different learning styles.
- Commitment to promoting inclusivity and advocating for students with special needs.
