Type: Full-Time, Life Skills Classroom (Grades: 2nd-5th)
Job Description:
Exciting opportunity for a full-time Special Education Teacher in a Life Skills classroom near Albany, OR. This unique role involves managing a classroom with grades 2nd through 5th, consisting of roughly 12 students and supported by 8 classified staff (paraprofessionals). The primary responsibilities include case manager duties such as writing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), leading IEP meetings, and conducting observations. There will be no direct instructional responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the case manager for a Life Skills classroom with students in grades 2nd through 5th.
- Write and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student.
- Lead IEP meetings and collaborate with parents, classified staff, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct classroom observations to inform and improve the learning environment.
- Work closely with a team of paraprofessionals to ensure student support and success.
Requirements:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience in case management, including writing IEPs and leading IEP meetings.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of classified staff.
