Special Education Teacher: Perfect SUMMER opportunity

ProCare Therapy is currently seeking dedicated and qualified Special Education Teachers (SPED) for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. Key Details:

• Start date- End date: June 26-July 20 (Orientation: June 20th 8:00-3:00 (1/2 planning; will pay up to four hours for room prep during June 20-June 22)
• School Year Begins: August 1, 2023
• Weekly Hours: 37.5 hours
• Number of Openings: 4

Job Responsibilities:

• Hours per week: 8:00-12:30, Monday-Thursday with the exception of the week of July 3rd. July 5-7th school will be in session
• Number of days needed per week: 4
• Caseload size and types of disabilities: Self-contained classroom of 8-10 students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities and Autism
• Grade levels/age group: 1st-4th grades
• IEP involvement and meeting responsibilities: Updating IEP goals at the end of the sesssion
• Any other important information regarding the district/position and/or specific experience the ideal applicant would possess: Experience working with students with low-incidence disabilities and Autism and/or experience with Structure Teaching (TEACCH model) a plus

Qualifications:

• Illinois Teacher Certification is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education then a Master's/ Doctoral degree in Special Education
