Job Details: Middle School Self-Contained Classroom
Soliant Education is currently seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a self-contained middle school classroom in the Stone Ridge, New York area. The position is a temporary assignment, beginning on November 6, 2023, and concluding on June 26th, 2024. The selected candidate will work during school hours from 8:00 am to 2:40 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support in a self-contained middle school classroom.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with the special education team.
- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other educators and support staff to meet the diverse needs of students.
Qualifications:
- Must have New York State Special Education Certification.
- Certification in either General Education Grades 7-12 or Special Education Grades 7-12 is required.
- Experience in a middle school setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.
Note: General education teachers willing to transition to special education will be considered.
