Procare Therapy, a leading provider of educational staffing solutions, is seeking a dedicated and passionate School-Based Special Education Middle School Teacher to join our team for the 2023-2024 school year. This position is an hourly contract role, offering full-time hours, and is based in Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, specifically in the middle school level.
• Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and growth.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with other members of the school team, including special education staff, general education teachers, and related service providers.
• Monitor and track student progress, and regularly assess their academic and social-emotional development.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to student progress, IEP goals, and any interventions or accommodations provided.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student performance and address any concerns or questions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid Illinois State Teaching Certificate in Special Education.
• Prior experience working with middle school students with special needs.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Ability to develop and implement effective IEPs and instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Contract Details:

• Hourly contract position for the duration of the 2023-2024 school year.
• Full-time hours, Monday to Friday, following the school calendar.
• Compensation and benefits will be discussed during the interview process.
