Multiple Elementary or Middle School Special Education Teachers needed

The caseloads are variable based on the preference of the teacher, however, it would be with elementary or middle school aged students working in a functional skills room, or self-contained class.
 

Job Description:

  • Resource or Self-Contained Special Education Teacher
  • Elementary or Middle School (4 positions)
  • Caseload size:
    • Middle school - Functional skills
      • 5-10 students
    • Elementary school - social/emotional needs
      • Approx. 10 students
  • Full time (37.5hrs/week paid)

Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with needs within a resource room setting
  • Develop engaging lesson plans that coincide with state standards and meet goals within each student's IEP. 
  • Use instructional strategies and interventions to support students' academic, social, and emotional development
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure that students' needs are being met across all settings
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjust instructional strategies as needed, and communicate regularly with parents and caregivers
  • Attend IEP meetings and participate in other special education-related meetings and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education (Master's degree preferred) or related field
  • Valid teaching certification for Special Education or a SPED Endorsement
  • Experience teaching in a school setting is preferred but not required
  • Ability to pass background test and drug screenings
