Special Education Teacher - Agate, CO
Make a meaningful impact this fall by supporting early childhood students as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis in Colorado. This unique role is designed to cover a maternity leave, offering you the opportunity to blend in-person teaching with flexible remote work for paperwork and IEP meetings. You’ll serve schools in a supportive network, working Monday through Thursday for a total of 32 hours weekly from August 3 to November 30, 2026.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) in Colorado
- Experience in early childhood special education preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP process and compliance
- Ability to effectively collaborate with families, school personnel, and multidisciplinary teams
- Comfort with hybrid work environments (remote and onsite responsibilities)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to early childhood students with diverse needs
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ strengths and areas for growth
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver in-person student services and complete evaluations at school sites
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain documentation remotely as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages student development
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
