Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility)
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students with disabilities in a school setting
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and deliver individualized instruction for students with diverse learning needs
- Create and maintain IEPs in accordance with federal and state guidelines
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
- Provide classroom management that encourages respectful, positive behaviors
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training
- Advocate for students and support their emotional, academic, and social development
