We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a middle school Life Skills program in Amherst, New Hampshire. This is a great opportunity for an educator who enjoys working closely with students who need individualized academic, behavioral, communication, and functional life-skills support.

Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction to middle school students in a Life Skills classroom
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Teach functional academics, communication, social skills, independent living skills, and other individualized goals
Modify curriculum and instructional materials based on student needs
Track student progress and maintain required special education documentation
Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, general education teachers, families, and school administrators
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings
Maintain a structured, supportive, and positive classroom environment
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
New Hampshire Special Education teaching certification/licensure or eligibility to obtain appropriate certification
Experience working with students with moderate to significant disabilities preferred
Experience in a Life Skills, functional academics, or self-contained classroom is a plus
Strong communication, organization, classroom management, and collaboration skills
