Special Education Teacher in Anderson, IN
An exciting contract opportunity is available for a licensed Special Education Teacher to work in a supportive, self-contained classroom environment focused on mild disabilities. This full-time position offers 35 hours per week in a collaborative school setting for the duration of the school year, beginning ASAP through December 18, 2026. Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Indiana Special Education teaching license (screenshot required upon submission)
- Experience working with students with mild disabilities preferred
- Comfortable managing a self-contained classroom setting
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs
- Positive attitude and commitment to student development
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in a mild disabilities classroom
- Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to foster academic and social-emotional growth
- Collaborate with other educators, families, and support staff to best support each student’s success
- Track and document student progress, updating goals as needed
- Maintain an inclusive, safe, and supportive classroom culture
- Participate in team meetings and professional development throughout the contract period
