Step into a pivotal role supporting K-12 students across diverse special education programs for the upcoming 26/27 school year. This contract-based opportunity involves serving multiple schools, providing essential instruction and advocacy for students with unique learning needs. With a consistent weekly schedule of 32.5–35 hours, you’ll be instrumental in shaping inclusive educational experiences for young learners.
Your qualifications should include:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS 1 endorsement
- Previous experience or proven passion working in special education settings preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication abilities
- Comfort adapting lessons to individual student needs across a variety of age groups and disabilities
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, engaging, and organized classroom environment
Responsibilities will encompass:
- Designing and delivering effective, individualized instruction for students in K-12 special education programs
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including paraprofessionals and support staff
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring IEP goals in compliance with state and federal requirements
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation and accurate student records
- Engaging with parents and guardians as key partners in each student’s progress
- Participating in program-wide initiatives, trainings, and team meetings
