Desired Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education certification with Special Education endorsement required
- Experience supporting students with significant autism, communication challenges, and/or emotional and behavioral disabilities
- Familiarity with AAC devices and non-verbal student needs is highly preferred
- Strong background in de-escalating behaviors, building life skills, and implementing data-driven interventions
- Comfortable collaborating with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and managing adults in the classroom setting
- Ability to provide instruction in a self-contained or center-based classroom, often supporting 8–15 students ranging across K-8
- Skilled at fostering student independence and supporting transitions into typical daily routines
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction for students with significant support needs, structured learning services, or emotional/behavioral disabilities
- Develop and implement effective classroom routines and data-driven interventions
- Collaborate closely with classroom paras, additional teachers, and specialized service providers to maximize student outcomes
- Build positive, productive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Maintain accurate records and participate actively in IEP meetings
This position offers an on-site, school-based environment with placements in Westminster, Thornton, or Broomfield. Full-time roles are 37.5 hours per week, while a part-time option is also available. Each educator will be assigned to a single school, ensuring focused, consistent support for your students.
