Special Education Teacher in Arvada, CO
Make a positive impact supporting middle school students as a Special Education professional in a contract role within a dynamic educational environment. Two exciting opportunities are available: one position at Northglenn Middle School, focused on learning services with a mild to moderate caseload, and a flexible opening at Rocky Top Middle School for a Significant Support Needs (SSN) teacher, a Learning Specialist, or a combination of both. Both assignments are onsite and designed for those who are passionate about empowering learners with diverse abilities.
Ideal candidates possess:
- An active Colorado Department of Education Teacher License with a Special Education Generalist (Ages 5–21) Endorsement
- Direct experience working with students who have mild to moderate or significant support needs
- Strong collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families
- Adaptable, creative instructional techniques tailored to a variety of learner profiles
- Proven ability to foster inclusion and engagement through evidence-based practices
In these roles, responsibilities will include:
- Delivering individualized instruction to meet students’ academic, behavioral, and emotional needs in accordance with IEP goals
- Effectively managing caseloads and supporting IEP compliance, data collection, and communication
- Creating and implementing engaging lesson plans and accommodations within the classroom setting
- Liaising with families and school staff to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to a collaborative school atmosphere
Both assignments are full-time, at 37.5 hours per week, with the option for part-time or full-time commitments at Rocky Top Middle School. Flexible assignment durations support work–life balance while making a genuine difference.
