This contract opportunity offers the chance to work as a Special Education Teacher, with openings for both a Learning Services position at one middle school and split roles (SSN Teacher and Learning Specialist) at another. Your Experience Should Include:
- Active Colorado Department of Education Teacher License with Special Education Generalist Endorsement (Ages 5-21)
- Previous experience working with mild-moderate or significant support needs (SSN) caseloads in a school-based setting
- Strong ability to adapt instruction to meet the individualized needs of students
- Collaborative skills to partner with general education teachers, specialists, and families
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specially designed instruction to students with IEPs in full-time Learning Services or SSN classrooms
- Develop and implement effective IEPs in compliance with state and federal requirements
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment for students in grades 6-8
- Assess student needs, monitor progress, and adjust instructional strategies
- Collaborate with school teams to promote student success and inclusion
- Complete required assessments and maintain thorough and timely documentation
Assignment Details:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours/week; one of the roles may be split at .5 FTE
- Start dates: 9/23–11/11 for Learning Services; ASAP through Winter Break (and possible extension) for SSN/Learning Specialist
- Support provided at one or two assigned middle school campuses
- Candidates may specify preferred opening; options include full-time or .5 FTE positions
Credentialing is time-sensitive and includes CDE licensure and fingerprint-based background checks. References will be required, so please have them prepared for submission.
