Special Education Teacher | Arvada, Colorado

Make a real difference as a full-time Special Education Teacher at the middle school level, supporting students from February through May. This rewarding contract opportunity is based near Arvada, CO, and requires face-to-face instruction—no VOCO or hybrid options are available. This role is well-suited for educators who bring both deep understanding and hands-on experience in Specially Designed Instruction. Your expertise in implementing IEPs and adapting lessons for varied learning needs will be highly valued.
Qualifications:
- Current Colorado CDE Special Education (SPED) Professional Teacher License with Generalist Endorsement (5-21).
- License must show: Professional Teacher License #000000, Endorsed In: Special Education Generalist (5-21).
- Cannot consider candidates holding only Travelers, Substitute, Temporary, or Interim licenses unless the official SPED License with the correct endorsement is in process with supporting documentation.
- Proficient in developing and implementing IEPs, and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Solid understanding of alternative standards and strategies for differentiating instruction.
- Prepared to provide detailed examples of your teaching methodologies, instructional practices, and collaboration during the interview.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver full-time, in-person special education instruction to middle school students.
- Collaborate closely with related service providers, general education staff, and families to ensure the educational success of each student.
- Design lessons that accommodate various learning styles and needs, focusing on measurable student growth.
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education requirements.
- Document student progress, efficiently manage IEP timelines, and contribute actively to team meetings.
