Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Current CDE SPED License with Generalist Endorsement is REQUIRED; travelers, substitute, temporary, or interim licenses cannot be considered unless proper documentation has been submitted and approved
- License must specifically read: Professional Teacher License #000000, endorsed in Special Education Generalist (5-21)
- Demonstrated middle school classroom experience preferred
- In-depth knowledge of instructional practices, specialized instructional strategies, and supporting students on alternative academic standards
- Extensive understanding and experience with the complete IEP process, including collaboration with fellow professionals and families
- Ability to provide and document specially designed instruction, progress monitoring, and support for diverse learners
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to on-site teaching—virtual or hybrid placement is not available
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering engaging, individualized instruction to students in special education settings
- Developing and implementing IEPs tailored to student needs
- Collaborating closely with IEP teams, related service providers, and families to support student success
- Monitoring and documenting progress, making data-driven instructional adjustments
- Employing evidence-based instructional strategies in alignment with best practices and legal mandates
