Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
- Previous experience as a Special Education or Exceptional Children’s Teacher
- Familiarity and hands-on experience with ECATS (Exceptional Children Accountability Tracking System)
- Passion for adapting instruction and modifying curricula to meet individual student needs
- Strong collaborative and communication skills to partner with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student
- Deliver engaging instruction and monitor progress for students with diverse abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families for student success
- Document instruction and student growth using ECATS and maintain thorough records
- Participate in ongoing professional development and meetings to enhance teaching strategies
- Advocate for the needs of exceptional children in all aspects of school life
