Qualifications and Experience:
- A valid Massachusetts Special Education License is required
- Background in delivering specialized instruction in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Adaptability to serve a range of grade levels and classroom environments, from resource to self-contained settings
- Strong communication skills for partnering with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Organizational skills and attention to detail for tracking student progress and maintaining documentation
- Dedication to promoting inclusion, equity, and positive behavioral supports
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored lesson plans based on students’ IEP goals
- Modify curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual students’ needs
- Assess student progress and regularly update educational plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster a supportive, emotionally safe classroom where every student can thrive
- Encourage student independence, social skills, and self-advocacy
- Maintain timely, accurate records and ensure compliance with special education regulations
