Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working in self-contained classrooms with K-6th grade students preferred
- Skilled in managing diverse caseloads, including behavioral needs
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration abilities
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Deliver instruction in a self-contained classroom for elementary grades (K-6)
- Effectively manage a caseload of students with multiple needs, including behavioral challenges
- Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages growth and safety
- Participate in district-provided MPS/De-escalation training and apply strategies as needed
