Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid and active Michigan Special Education Teacher certification (please be ready to provide verification upon applying)
- Experience working with students in a resource room preferred
- Strong classroom management and differentiated instruction skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administrators
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Teach small groups of elementary or middle school students in a resource classroom setting
- Coordinate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and support inclusion
- Track student progress and maintain thorough documentation
- Foster a supportive, engaging atmosphere that promotes student growth and confidence
This contract position runs from now through June 2027 and offers a structured weekly schedule totaling 35 hours per week. You'll enjoy the satisfaction of guiding students’ educational journeys across two well-equipped schools and manageable caseloads (10-11 students).
