Special Education Teacher in Augusta, GA
Exciting opportunities are available for passionate Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) teachers who are dedicated to positively impacting students’ lives. Support is needed for the 2026/2027 academic year, with three contract positions available—serving a middle school caseload and two elementary school caseloads. All roles are on-site, offering a collaborative, structured environment focused on delivering effective, individualized supports for students with ASD.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong classroom management, a deep understanding of IEP processes, and the ability to work closely with general education teams. The positions are full-time, Monday through Friday, totaling 37.5 hours per week. You’ll play a crucial part in delivering specialized instruction and fostering growth for students in both elementary and middle school settings.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Special Education Licensure/Certification (must provide verification with your application)
- Experience in school-based special education environments preferred
- Skilled in collaborating with general education educators
- Proficient in classroom management and documentation
- Strong communication with students, parents, and staff
- Committed to on-site, full-time work throughout the contract period
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted ASD instruction for assigned caseloads
- Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with staff to adapt curricula and interventions
- Foster a structured, supportive learning environment
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication
