Special Education Teacher in Augusta, GA
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder by supporting their growth in a full-time assignment during the 2026/2027 school year. As a dedicated educator on this school-based contract opportunity, you’ll work exclusively onsite with a caseload at both the middle and elementary levels, collaborating closely with general education staff and contributing to a positive, structured learning environment.
Ideal candidates are passionate about special education, experienced in IEP implementation, and proactive in fostering student success. You will play a pivotal role in adapting instruction, supporting behavioral goals, and ensuring each student’s unique needs are met.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Active Georgia Special Education Licensure/Certification (Submit a license snapshot for consideration)
- Background in school-based Special Education preferred, especially working with students on the autism spectrum
- Proven skills in classroom management and a collaborative approach with interdisciplinary teams
- Availability for the entire academic year, Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours weekly
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with ASD across elementary and middle school settings
- Implement, manage, and document IEP goals and related services
- Foster an engaging and inclusive classroom climate geared toward individual support
- Coordinate with parents, general education staff, and support personnel to optimize student outcomes
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to case management tasks as needed
