Shape the future for students with unique learning needs in the North Denver area as a dedicated Special Education Teacher. Multiple contract opportunities are available for the 2026-2027 school year, serving one campus each in Westminster, Thornton, and Broomfield. Work with supportive teams in primary and elementary settings, making a real impact in the lives of children with significant autism, behavioral needs, or mild/moderate disabilities.
What you’ll need:
- Active Colorado Department of Education certification with Special Education endorsement
- Previous experience supporting students with significant autism, non-verbal communication, and AAC devices (ideal but not required)
- Skill in data-driven teaching, implementing structured systems, and de-escalating unsafe behaviors
- Confidence managing adult staff and collaborating with paraprofessionals and specialists
- Knowledge of building life skills and social-emotional supports for elementary-age students
- Passion and patience for working in self-contained or resource classroom settings
Your role at a glance:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction and behavioral support for students in Structured Learning Services (SLS), Significant Support Needs (SSN), Autism Needs (AN), or Learning Specialist classrooms
- Foster inclusive classroom environments for 8-15 students, with support from paraprofessionals and other educators
- Develop and implement IEPs and data-driven plans to build life skills, communication, and emotional regulation
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic student growth and success
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to further support your practice and growth
Both full-time (37.5 hours/week) and part-time (.5 FTE) roles are open, aligned with school-year calendars. Placement is based on fit, with one school per assignment and strong district support.
