Positions are open for both full-time and part-time candidates at two middle schools near Aurora, CO. Roles are contract-based, with options including coverage for a mild-moderate caseload or supporting students with significant cognitive and communicative needs (SSN). Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education Teacher License with Special Education Generalist (Ages 5-21) Endorsement
- Experience working in special education settings, preferably with students in grades 6–8
- Familiarity with mild-moderate and/or significant support needs (SSN) instructional strategies
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet individual IEP goals
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with faculty, families, and support staff
- Timely completion of fingerprinting and other district credentialing processes
- References must be ready for review prior to school interview consideration
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and small group instruction tailored to assigned student caseloads
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and inclusion
- Foster a positive classroom environment sensitive to diverse student needs
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and school requirements
- Communicate student progress and strategies with families and stakeholders
- Participate in staff meetings, IEP reviews, and professional development as required
These roles offer the chance to impact students’ lives while working alongside supportive educational professionals. Flexible start dates are available: one position covers September to November, the other begins ASAP with the possibility to extend.
