This full-time role runs from August 19, 2026, to May 28, 2027, and involves working alongside fellow educators to co-teach English Language Arts and math for 6th and 7th graders. Structured to optimize learning, the schedule offers a steady 35 hours per week, starting at 7:45am and wrapping up by 2:50pm each day.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement
- Demonstrable experience teaching in special education settings, ideally at the middle school level
- Adept at co-teaching models and collaborating with fellow instructors
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Passion for fostering inclusion and adapting instruction to diverse learners' needs
Responsibilities:
- Co-teach ELA (three sections) and math (two sections) with two classroom teachers, delivering engaging, differentiated instruction
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of IEPs and instructional strategies
- Monitor student progress, documenting growth and challenges while working closely with support staff and families
- Foster a supportive, respectful classroom culture where every student’s strengths are valued
- Engage in regular team planning to ensure curriculum alignment and instructional effectiveness
