Special Education Teacher - Avon, CO

This full-time, on-site contract opportunity offers the chance to provide vital support to young learners while collaborating with passionate educators and families.
In this position, you’ll guide and nurture an elementary caseload of about 20 students, working Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:40am–2:50pm, and Wednesday from 8:40am–2:50pm. The start date is flexible, with an anticipated term from early November through late May, giving you the opportunity to make a lasting impression throughout the school year.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- Valid Special Education Teacher licensure appropriate for the state and grade level
- Experience supporting elementary students with mild to moderate exceptionalities
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and IEP implementation
- Genuine passion for fostering inclusive, growth-minded classroom environments
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Prior contract or travel experience in school settings is a plus
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing effective lesson plans tailored to individual needs
- Creating and leading inclusive learning activities adapted for diverse learners
- Managing IEP documentation, meetings, and progress tracking
- Working closely with general education teachers and school support staff
- Building trusting relationships with families to encourage student success
- Helping each child reach their fullest potential in a supportive, structured classroom
