Special Education Teacher - Avon, CO

Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state credentials for teaching special education in elementary grades)
- Previous experience in a mild/moderate classroom preferred
- Strong collaborative skills to work with general education teachers, specialists, and families
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 20 students, developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and deliver lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs within the mild/moderate setting
- Manage and track student progress, maintain accurate records, and comply with documentation requirements
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including families, administration, and related service providers
- Lead and participate in IEP meetings, ensuring student goals are both appropriate and measurable
- Support students’ social, emotional, and cognitive growth in a nurturing classroom climate
