Special Education Teacher in Battle Creek, MI
Make a vital impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students at both elementary and middle school levels in a dynamic Michigan school district. This contract opportunity focuses on providing resource support for students in a collaborative and well-resourced educational setting. There are currently two openings—one serving elementary and one for middle school—allowing applicants to specify their preferred age group.
Your experience and passion for special education will be crucial as you help tailor instruction to meet each student's unique needs. Caseloads are manageable, with 10 elementary and 11 middle school students per teacher. The schedule consists of consistent daytime hours, with assignment to East Leroy Elementary (7:55 a.m. – 3:10 p.m.) or Athens High School (7:35 a.m. – 2:40 p.m.), providing a stable routine.
Candidates will need to possess an active Michigan Special Education (SPED) license, and a valid copy or screenshot of the credential will be required for submission.
What You’ll Bring:
