Two full-time positions are open for certified professionals to support 1st and 2nd grade learners in self-contained classrooms. One role focuses on delivering life skills instruction to young students; the other supports positive behavior through a check-in/check-out model—both vital roles for fostering growth and inclusion.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid General Education and Special Education certification (required)
- Experience teaching in a self-contained or specialized support classroom strongly preferred
- Passion for differentiated instruction and working with students who have diverse learning needs
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and encouraging learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach and support students using individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring each child’s needs are met
- Develop engaging, age-appropriate curriculum to support life skills development or manage behavioral goals as assigned
- Collaborate closely with classroom staff, families, and other specialists to track progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Employ positive behavior intervention strategies for classroom management
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with guardians and the multidisciplinary team
