What You'll Bring:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with elementary or middle school students, particularly those with intensive needs or requiring life skills instruction
- Strong case management and documentation abilities
- Positive collaboration skills and adaptability
- Excellent communication with students, families, and colleagues
Your Responsibilities:
- Serve as special education teacher and case manager for a small group of grades 5/6 students (currently three, life skills/intensive needs)
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct instruction and support in life skills, social, and academic areas
- Collaborate with related service providers, general education staff, and families
- Maintain accurate records and communicate student progress
- Support the overall goals of the special education department
