Assignment Details:
- Contract duration: August 24, 2026, through June 7, 2027
- Weekly commitment: 37.5 hours
- Setting: Serve in a single building with students assigned to either middle or primary grades
Caseloads Include:
- Multiple Disabilities classroom (9-12 students): Serve students with autism, non-verbal communication needs, physical impairments, and other complex learning needs.
- Emotional Disabilities classroom (10-15 students): Deliver social-emotional instruction and crisis intervention, manage Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs), and foster an environment supportive of student growth.
Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure in Special Education required
- Experience working with students with multiple and/or emotional disabilities preferred
- Proficiency implementing BIPs, social-emotional learning, and differentiated instructional strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with teams and families
- Flexibility and compassion in dynamic classroom environments
- Crisis intervention expertise or willingness to train
Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide direct instruction tailored to varied ability levels
- Foster positive classroom management and encourage student engagement
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and related service providers
- Document progress and participate in team meetings for student support
