Key Qualifications:
- Current, active Michigan Special Education Teacher License (proof required with application)
- Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students in a resource setting is strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP development, case management, and adapting curriculum for a range of learning needs
- Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering resource instruction to caseloads of approximately 10 elementary or 11 middle school students
- Developing, implementing, and tracking progress on IEPs in coordination with multidisciplinary teams
- Modifying curriculum and instructional strategies to meet varied student needs
- Providing direct support in both pull-out and push-in formats as appropriate
- Maintaining thorough records and documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Establishing rapport and promoting positive relationships with students and families
This contract position offers a weekly schedule totaling 35 hours, with assignments at both Athens High School and East Leroy Elementary. Start as soon as possible and grow your portfolio through June 2027.
