Special Education Teacher | Berkeley, California

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction to a caseload of Kindergarten and 1st grade students within an SDC classroom.
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and needs.
- Adapt lesson plans and modify curriculum to ensure accessibility and student progress.
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, specialists, and other support staff.
- Offer both academic and social-emotional support to students, fostering growth and self-confidence.
- Maintain documentation and compliance in accordance with federal and state special education requirements.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active California Special Education teaching credential (required).
- Previous experience in SDC settings is highly preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with an ability to connect with students, families, and fellow educators.
- Proven classroom management techniques and a passion for supporting student success.
