Embark on an exciting contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time role supports 1st and 2nd grade students, providing vital instructional and emotional support within an elementary school environment. Starting in August 2026 through June 2027, you’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference every day.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for endorsement)
- Proven success working with elementary-grade students, particularly in special education settings
- Strong classroom management, individualized instruction, and progress monitoring skills
- Familiarity with IEP development, goal tracking, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Exceptional communication skills to facilitate partnerships with school staff, students, and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and assess individualized education programs for 1st and 2nd grade students
- Adapt lesson plans and modify curriculum materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to promote student growth academically, socially, and emotionally
- Conduct ongoing assessments, attend IEP meetings, and maintain thorough documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, service providers, and families to ensure holistic student support
