As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll work closely with students enrolled in our DLP program—those with intellectual disabilities, autism, multiple disabilities, and developmental delays. This opportunity, located near Bolingbrook, IL, is a contract position offering approximately 30 hours per week, delivering impactful instruction and guidance where it matters most.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois LBS1 certification required
- Previous experience working with students with intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism, or multiple disabilities is highly valued
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Adept at collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, paraprofessionals, and families
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage documentation and student plans
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction tailored to student IEP goals within the DLP program
- Create positive, structured classroom environments promoting growth, engagement, and inclusion
- Utilize evidence-based strategies and differentiated instruction to foster academic and social-emotional development
- Collect and record data to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions
- Collaborate with support staff and families to develop and adjust educational strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings, team conferences, and ongoing professional development opportunities
